1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how MarketFace ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MarketFace Android phone app and Wear OS companion app (together, the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Data we collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the App and provide its features.

• Account identity. When you sign in with Google through Firebase Authentication, we receive your Google account email address, basic profile information, and a Firebase user identifier (UID).
• Subscription and purchase status. Purchases and subscription state are processed by Google Play Billing. Our backend receives the resulting subscription status (active, expired, etc.) so we can unlock premium features.
• App content you create. Watchlists, portfolio entries, price alerts, and in-app settings that you save are stored so we can sync them across your phone and watch.
• Market data requests. When you view a symbol or refresh a list, the App sends requests to our backend (and, indirectly, to market data providers) containing the requested symbols.
• Diagnostics and crash data. We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and non-fatal error logs to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
• Device and app information. Standard technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, locale, and a non-permanent installation identifier may be collected for diagnostics and to keep the App working correctly.

We do not knowingly collect government IDs, payment card numbers, contact lists, precise location, microphone audio, or camera images.

3. How we use data

• To let you sign in and identify your account.
• To provide core app functionality, including saving your watchlist, portfolio, alerts, and settings.
• To sync data between your Android phone and Wear OS watch.
• To verify your subscription status and unlock premium features you have purchased.
• To deliver market data and related content you request.
• To diagnose crashes, monitor reliability, and improve the App.
• To prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms.
• To respond to your support requests.

4. Third-party services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the App. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.

• Google Firebase Authentication — sign-in and account identity.
• Google Firebase (Firestore) — storing watchlists, portfolios, alerts, and app settings.
• Google Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting and diagnostics.
• Google Play Billing — purchases and subscription management.
• Backend hosting and API providers — running our server and routing requests.
• Market data providers — supplying quotes and related market information.

We are not affiliated with Google or any stock exchange, broker, or data provider.

5. Data sharing

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We share data only with the service providers listed above, and only to the extent necessary to run the App.
• We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MarketFace, our users, or others.

6. Security

• Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) where applicable.
• Account and subscription state are verified server-side; the App does not rely solely on the device for entitlement checks.
• Access to stored data is restricted to authorized systems and personnel.

No service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.

7. Your choices

• Sign out at any time from inside the App.
• Request account or data deletion by emailing support@[your-domain], or see the dedicated account deletion page for the full process. We will delete your account data within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business reasons (such as billing records).
• Manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play account.
• Crash reporting can be limited at the OS level by adjusting Google account and Android diagnostic settings.

8. Data retention

We keep your account-related data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize the associated app content within a reasonable time. Diagnostic and crash logs are retained for a limited period for engineering purposes. Billing records may be kept longer where required by law.

9. Children

MarketFace is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Financial disclaimer

MarketFace provides market information and portfolio tracking tools only. The App is not a broker, does not execute trades, and does not provide personalized financial advice or recommendations. Market data may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Nothing in the App should be relied on as the sole basis for any financial decision.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify users in the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
